Bangalore has an international airport, Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL; Airport code: BLR), which is located about 40 km from the city center. It is well-connected to major cities in India and around the world, with several airlines operating regular flights to and from Bangalore. The airport is well served by taxis and city buses.
By Train
Bangalore is connected to most major cities in India through a network of railways. The city has three major railway stations – Bangalore City Junction, Bangalore Cantonment, and Yeshwantpur Junction. Trains from all over the country arrive and depart from these stations.
By Road
Bangalore is well-connected by roads, and there are several options for traveling to the city by bus, car or taxi. The city is connected to major cities in the south of India via national highways, making it easily accessible by road.

Who are eligible for a Conference visa?
A Conference visa is granted to those individuals :
- Whose sole objective of visiting India is to attend a conference / seminar or workshop being held in India;
- Who holds a valid passport, and a re-entry permit if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of the applicant;
- Who is not a persona-non-grata to the Government of India;
- Who is not considered an undesirable person and is not the subject of a negative list or any warning circular or other restrictive list;
- Who is a person of assured financial standing (the production of a return ticket and availability of sufficient money to spend during his stay in India may be considered sufficient for this purpose).

What is the duration of the Conference Visa?
Conference visa will be issued for the duration of the conference and the travelling time. However, the delegates coming to attend conference etc. in India can combine tourism with attending the conference. Missions can, at their discretion, grant visas for the required period. Such visa shall not exceed maximum validity of Tourist Visa, i.e. 6 months subject to usual conditions applicable for grant of the Tourist visa.

What documents are needed for obtaining visas?
- Conference visa will be granted to delegates on production of an invitation letter from the organizer(s), a copy of Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division) clearance for holding the conference and a copy of the communication from the Ministry of External Affairs conveying political clearance, which will be provided by the organizers upon request.
- Applicant’s passport should have at least six months validity at the time of making application for grant of e-Visa.
- International Travellers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket, with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
- Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders or Laissez-passer travel document holders.
- Not available to individuals endorsed on Parent’s/Spouse’s Passport i.e. each individual should have a separate passport.
- Not available to International Travel Document Holders other than Passport.
